Matt had been working on a book over the last several
years. His aim was to take some of the stories and lessons
from his experience in ministry and compile them together.
Much of Matt's work for the book was scratched out on
yellow legal pads in pencil. His secretaries at the church,
and a couple others, then helped get this into typewritten
form. As Matt was getting ill, he had a new sense of
urgency about moving the book ahead. His son Michael began
to work together with him in the spring and summer of 2008
to organize the topics and chapters. But Matt never had the
chance to finish his work, and left the book with Michael
to complete.
Mike is working with a few others to do just that. At the
end of 2008, the book stood at about 60% complete in the
first draft. There's still much work to do, but Matt left
us enough content to fill in the gaps and produce a
complete work. We are aiming for August of 2009 for
publication.
